The Riverview | The Urbinatis

January 20, 2019

This Riverview wedding in Simsbury, Connecticut was a perfect setting to my last wedding of the year. The weather the week previous was a bitter cold but on the day of was a pleasant 50 degrees with a light snowfall and rain. The day began at the Simsbury Inn where Xio and her girls got the star treatment from their friend Julie who owns Dos & Dyes.

I was happy to hit a bucket list photo stop - Drake Hill Flower Bridge even though it didn't have flowers it provided a backdrop for the wedding party portraits.

There are too many favorite moments and images I want to share. One being during the ceremony at St. Catherine of Siena, when Michael would sneak looks at his bride and when the whole congregation erupted with joy during the first kiss! The energy was palpable the whole day. I for sure got misty was for sure during the couple's first dance as well as the bride with her mother. Both song choices really complimented the couple's love and the special mother-daughter relationship. I laughed during the speeches and got super giddy was when the dance battle circle broke out!

The family was so welcoming and comes to find out the bride went to high school with my associate shooter of the day, Elizabeth! It was such a coincidence and made the day feel like genuine friends hanging out and getting the best photos for the couple. The new Mr. & Mrs. honeymooned in the Dominican Republic and I am sure it was a welcomed relief from the cold.

Congratulations to the Urbinatis / #urbinlove

All smiles,
Mariel
