Judy & Justin | A Daytime Brunch Wedding

June 2, 2024

A Villa Louisa
Bolton, Connecticut

When Judy contacted me I knew she was my kind of bride with the pure mention that she wasn't getting married on June 3rd (a nod to Gilmore Girls) and that she loves her pups. So when I arrived at the venue and everyone was relaxed and ready to celebrate with her and Justin that made it meant to be. This intimate day was a bit non-traditional since it was a daytime brunch and I didn't photograph and typical getting ready. There were plenty of beautiful details from the flowers (which the bride's aunt did!) plus all the Gilmore gazebos and table numbers.

The ceremony was short and sweet but no less emotional with more nods to the best show ever, ending their vows with "I'm all In". Justin even joked that since the ceremony started a few minutes late that Judy had taken a spontaneous trip to Harvard. In this scenario you are the Luke, Justin not the Max haha! Again, IYKYK! I really loved the endless options for portraits and the most beautiful light with woods and tall grasses.

As the reception came to a close, the bride was standing with her grandma and I overheard - the grandma was gushing about how Justin was a good man and offering her congratulations. This struck me because my grandma said that about my husband all the time and offered her wisdom about love too. Seeing your loved one so happy is such a joy!

I headed back to Judy and Justin's home after the guests had gone so I could capture their pride and joy - their dogs Henry & Penny! It was important for them to be part of the day and I completely understood not bringing them to the venue. Dogs can be a handful but they were so cute and loved seeing Judy and Justin all dressed up.

Time to re-live this day through these images!

All smiles,

Mariel

How special is having that generations photo!
