Becca & JD | St. Clements Waterfront Wedding

St. Clements Castle Waterfront Wedding
Portland, Connecticut

When my coverage wrapped up for the day, I thought, "Wow, I’ve been grinning like a dang fool!" Hanging out with Becca and JD on their big day was beyond fantastic! I know I rave about the lighting often, but it was the perfect overcast sky—like nature’s soft filter! I captured everything from the fabulous wedding party to the epic reception. The maids rolled in, all set to shine, and I snagged some close-ups before Becca donned her gorgeous dress with her lovely mom (who I was thrilled to see again after her chauffeur duties at the engagement shoot!).

During the first look with JD, we were treated to the venue’s enchanting ivy and castle-like stonework—because who doesn’t want a fairy tale vibe? After some portraits, I finally met the dynamic crew surrounding the couple—the wedding party that didn’t disappoint! The groomsmen were oozing classic charm while the maids in soft blue radiated. The waterfront ceremony was bursting with joy and family love. They even had a reading from the groom’s family Bible and a heartfelt poem from the bride’s mom. Oh, and Becca and JD totally nailed that end-of-aisle dip, thanks to a quick TikTok tutorial!

The party really kicked off at the reception with a wild t-shirt toss! These two are major sports fans (shoutout to the Patriots and Eagles), and guess who crashed the party? Jonathan the Husky from UCONN! Everyone rushed to snap pics and dance with him! It was clear these lovebirds were having the time of their lives - hair tied back, and light-up hats on deck! And instead of a boring donut wall, they had a pretzel wall—how creative is that?

Becca and JD, sip a limoncello for me during your Mediterranean honeymoon next month and enjoy these unforgettable moments!

All smiles,

Mariel
