This year seems to be a struggle when it comes to weddings and planning but this day was pulled off after many changes. Just only a week ago we were hit with a tropical storm Isaias and hit hard. I myself was out of power for two days and apparently Connecticut hadn't seen an outage quite like this since Hurricane Gloria in the 1980s (when I was born!). That weather sort of reminded me of the last time I was with Sharlyne (a surprise boudie sesh) but it all turned around and this beach day ceremony in Milford was full of dusty blues, muted greens, and crisp white and my first full day coverage wedding of 2020!
To be honest even though Covid put a damper on the original plans of a big waterfront wedding at Water's Edge Resort, these two were just a few feet away from the ocean getting ready at Conor's parents home. It is so special and personal when you get ready in a familiar place. All the girls were upstairs with hair and make up in full force. The room where are the dresses were was full of clean light and wish all getting ready location were like this!
My friend and associate Courtney was over with the guys getting ready and did a great job with the candids (specifically why having a 2nd photographer really completes your gallery). A special delivery for Conor was the boudoir album that was made for his eyes only!
There were so many details that made this day special starting with their children, Blake and Bryce. Not many children get to witness their parents getting married and I loved getting a family portrait on the beach. Another surprise was Sharlyne's ride to the ceremony - a baby blue Beetle that was her Mimi's. Seeing the tears and smiles was a reaction that made me emotional too! These portraits are my new favorites and are being added asap to my portfolio - I mean an Amazon veil purchase did the trick to make everything glow. The sunset was "cotton candy pink" just like the bride wanted I am so happy it all came together.
One of my favorite cap to the night was Sharlyne's outfit change to a short pink party dress and their friend's singing to them 'Wonderwall' by Oasis (apparently it happens a lot!)
Congratulations Sullivans you are officially newlyweds!
All smiles, Mariel
