Confession: Winter sessions are wonderful and a close up to my favorite time of year to shoot (second to fall). Sarah and Robby suggested meeting up at their favorite winery, Paradise Hills in Wallingford, Connecticut. Being a Wallingford native myself I had funny enough never been and boy was I missing out. This vineyard is quaint will a super kind staff, accommodating with great wine!
Sarah and Robby brought their rescue mix Tucker who was a very good boy and we started with a perfect family portrait. I was happy that Sarah's parents showed up to help with Tucker afterwards it made for a huge help! It also made it special because I never get to meet the parents before the wedding day. Sarah's mom kept commenting how happy she was to watch some of the session and that made me realize how special this time of their life this is.
Another first for me was after the formality of shooting I got to sit with the couple, share a glass and hear more details about their relationship and the upcoming holiday. They have a 13-foot tree! I also was lucky enough Sarash shared a photo of her dress with me (while Robby was outside with Tucker.) We also talked Christmas and family, which is perfect because they are getting married at their home which is on a beautiful lake.
