Backyards make the perfect venues and rolling up to my friend Courtney's home I just felt a different energy. It was a relaxed atmosphere and Courtney being in the industry herself didn't have the usual 15 member bridal party with lots of commotion around her. The most important woman were nearby like her mother, mother-in-law and sisters in law. All the hustle was occurring outside as vendors starting showing up and setting up.

Courtney and Matt bought this house recently and renovated it while planning this wedding day! All hands were on deck for both things and it just shows how loved this couple is by their family and friends. Her father built the alter and I loved all over lace of her dress and color scheme. There were great portrait spots all over the property too from the barn (you know I'm a sucker for those) plus a country windy road and ferns! I love ferns!

What really got me in the feels throughout this whole day was how much fun the couple has together and how much they laugh! Matt was very expressive in his vows which was fantastic. The personalization of this moment at the alter is my favorite part of the wedding day - hearing what your spouse has to say to you and promise is something that can't be taken for granted. He mentioned their cat, Fauci which they got during the crazy year of 2020 and how much fun they had calling him by a fancy Bridgerton name.

The dance floor was packed and such fun when both sets of parents rocked out to "Sweet Child of Mine" with air guitars! My associate shooter, Zack got some great images and I am so thankful for him (since Courtney is my regular shooter). Of course I did catch her taking a snap or two with the polaroid camera she got for her guests to capture some of the day.
