The ever struggle of then end of the year recap...admitting I have 2022 still on draft status. Being a mom to a toddler I am surprised to have any time at all to hit publish! This year went pretty good. I joined a team of photographers hosted under one brand, so I got to associate shoot quite a lot. By the numbers: 5 of my own 2023 couples, 6 engagement sessions, a family shoot and proposal and over 5,600 images delivered! My newer headshots were taken by Kaitlyn Casso who does amazing branding and was a bridesmaid in one of the autumn weddings (thank you for the referral). I was able to also network with some other vendors and tag along as an associate shooter as well to about 10 other days. I was busy for sure!
I started the year photographing Michelle and Rodrigo's engagement in the polar vortex weather at Mount Southington. It was a spot that meant something to them being avid snow bunnies! I was concerned with the temps and my gear but it went obviously just fine. I love the snowball fight photos! Their intimate wedding at the beautiful Wickham Park, Emerald Room was quite the dance party. There was nice light peeping through the gardens and something different was photographing the first dance in the courtyard at night!
Spent a lovely day by the water for Rachel and Mike. They also had an intimate day at Water's Edge Resort with pops of bright pink. These two also did a fun first dance and really got down at the end, while sharing moments with their daughter. The sparkle exit was more like sparkle wand which we could get multiple run throughs with it without the risk of burns.
If you read the proposal story for Ramiz and Sabra you know it was very spur of the moment in the early evening racing down to Lighthouse Point Park after a morning session with another couple. It was cold surprisingly by the water (should've known) but amazing! It was so fun to feel like a super spy and get to see this couple start their forever.
Alex & Jason blew me away with the detail and elegance of their wedding at the Aria in Southington. This fashionista bride had it all perfect, with her groom surprising her with a white Prada bag. My jaw nearly dropped like hers! What a guy Jason is showering her with that! My dream was to shoot in the newly built chapel and it did not disappoint with bright white everywhere.
Erica & Thomas have been all over my Insta since their November day at the Delamar Hotel. The terracotta color scheme was nothing short of perfect along with their very sweet families. I felt so welcomed! Some memorable moments included bridesmaid tiktok videos, tender first looks (with dad and Thomas), tons of portrait time outside and a lift to end their first dance!
Logan & Joshua ended my year on a nice autumn day at the Pavilion on Crystal Lake. As I mentioned on their own blog post this was a family wedding of sorts and I was thrilled to be there. The sunflowers matched Logan's fun personality and how much these two love to laugh. The wedding party intros were a fun little roasts on each member as they entered the cozy reception hall and the "doggie bags" for people's pups was so thoughtful (since they have 4 dogs of their own).
