This session was super special to capture at a local Air BnB and the Waterford Judicial Court House. A wedding planner I follow regularly asked on Instagram if anyone was available to take photos for her sister, partner and their two young girls they would be adopting. I jumped at the chance for this different type of experience. It was nothing short of amazing! In a week's time I traveled to Mystic to witness Val, Lindsey, Abigail and Summer become an official family after 13 months of fostering and dealing with Child Services.
Included in some photos was a sign 'She Persisted' and after that long year they did!
There wasn't a dry eye in the courtroom -- seeing these sister's smile at their new middle and last names certificates was so sweet. The judge mentioned that these should be kept safe and will jump start their collection of memories and should create a box to hold them in. The family members rejoiced more outside where I captured some first portraits on the grounds near a lovely pink cherry blossom tree! The following Sunday was Mother's Day and I also found it so poetic that these new mom's were going to have an extra special day!
Congratulations again!
All Smiles,
Mariel
The only vendor I need to tag is the amazing Lisa from Nightingale Events who brought it all together. Thank you!
