More and more I realize how special it is to be let into these family celebrations. Rachel, Michael and their daughter Madeline made it official at Water's Edge Resort in Westbrook, Connecticut on a perfect summer day! Late August could be pretty sweltering but the weather by the water made it a nice breeze and the clouds made amazing light. These two are living in Oregon so I didn't get to officially meet them until the day of but I could tell it was going to be a sweet, low stress day.

Rachel and Mike's romance began with a bad joke about a nutty squirrel and each of them mentioned it in their vows which just gave me a glimpse into how fun these two are! Then another joy was seeing them break it down and 'twerk' towards the end of their first dance. The smaller guest count allowed me to grab a everybody group photo on the dance floor. Together is just the best place to be!

These two share an anniversary with Rachel's grandparents and she was honored on her bouquet and the first row at the ceremony. It the little touches that make everything magic. The father/daughter dance was memorable because Mike and Madeline danced alongside Rachel and her father. After the 'exit' and my coverage ended it made me sad because I would love to see this couple again. The Pacific Northwest is on my bucket list locations to travel to...so just maybe!
