I remember passing through Collinsville one time a long time ago when I was working for Teddy Bear Portraits and thinking how friggin' awesome and industrial it was and how I had to do a session here. It took some years later but finally got the chance. Jillian and Tim just moved to this small town and decided that this was the perfect location for their engagement shoot. I met up with them in the center at a really cute restaurant.
It was a while since they booked so it was great to officially meet up. Despite the chill wind downtown was buzzing with activity. There is so much history, local shops and a pretty trail and bridge. We started at the museum building that was light and bright and then Jill took us around since she scouted some locations weeks before. All I need is good light and I certainly did. I really enjoyed this blue wall because it matched her sapphire ring perfectly! The outfits were also nice and neutral so I could showcase their smiles better. I always recommend just that - stay comfortable, no crazy patterns that way you don't look back in regret!
I am really pumped to shoot their September wedding at the classy Wadsworth Mansion!
All smiles,
Mariel
