Sarah and Seth | Harkness Memorial State Park, CT

April 18, 2026

Meeting Sarah and Seth for their engagement session at Harkness Memorial State Park was such a pleasure. The afternoon was unusually chilly coming off of a 80 degree week but we made it work. The daffodils were busting all over the park! Sarah came with great ideas and they were down for anything.

Sarah and Seth recently moved back to Connecticut from Texas, buying some property in Andover with their two cats. Seth actually was hoping for them to be part of their wedding somehow because our furry ones are family for sure!

Despite never having professional photos taken and feelings of awkwardness (we all do -trust) they absolutely crushed it. It was very easy walking around the grounds free of tons of people which is typical. We had a lot of locations to ourselves and this allowed me to go to spots I never get to go...its a new experience every time. Spots that don't go out of style are the mansion itself with the architecture, lush gardens and the 100-year old Japanese maple.

Sarah is sentimental and I adore that - she took a couple daffodils as a keepsake for her to press and wants to do something similarly crafty with her bouquet. Seth also go an opportunity to shine and have his GQ moments and contributed with ideas too! My delight is when my grooms actually have fun and I can see it! Engagement shoots are great ice breakers!

We ended the session at the beach where they practiced the lift! This movement and pose is so fun and of course they nailed this too! Their big day is about a month away and I just know it will be all they dreamed of! Enjoy some favorites!

All smiles,
Mariel

What a stunning ring!
